Rafael Montero (Pampayruna)
As a professional singer, he founded the ensemble El Parnaso Hyspano in London and Cologne, dedicated to music inspired by indigenous cultures and singing in Native American languages, as well as in Spanish and Latin . He speaks quichua and aymara.
He has collaborated with Border Crossings – an intercultural arts organisation, sharing knowledge and rituals connected with food with primary school children through its Botany Bay project, and bringing authentic Andean prehispanic music to the Festival of Peru at the British Museum. Most recently he led a workshop focusing on Latin American music, instruments, and culture, for the residents of his local estate, supported and sponsored by its Tenants and Residents Association.
